Corporate Social Responsibility: The Good Corporation

Corporate Social Responsibility: The Good Corporation

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) describes the way in which companies interact with society at large. Corporate Social Responsibility is ‘responsible’, ‘good’ or laudable behaviour by companies. It can also be called ‘corporate citizenship’ or sustainable responsible business (SRB). The extent to which the law requires or permits companies to be good is detailed here. It is commonplace to read of corporations that aspire to be ‘responsible citizens’. Companies assert that they wish to benefit the broader community, clean up and protect the environment and pursue philanthropic goals.
